Kill Her

Dear God,

I’ve been living a secret life; another side of me that no one knows other then you. It’s my secret life that my flesh enjoys, but my spirit weeps in heartaches and pain. It’s my secret life I know that if others found out, I would be ashamed. It’s something I do that I know I shouldn't be doing, and I am not proud of, yet for some reason I still do it. And I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to break away from it.

This was never supposed to happen. I was never supposed to have this secret life. How did I let it get this far? Why did I let my true self give in to the temptations? I hate it. I hate this person. I hate what it has become and for hurting you God. I hate that it justifies the truth so that it can keep feeding itself with lies and sin.

Lord help me. Renew my heart, search me long. Reveal everything in my life that is not of you. Bring it to the light so that it is exposed by your love. God please, I need your break through. I need your light to shine again in my deepest darkest secrets that I try to hide. But you Lord know everything about me. There is nothing that I can hide from you. Yet you love me, knowing all my shame and guilty sin. You still love me even when I hurt you. You love me even though I ignored you when you tried to tell me to walk away.

Father, I am sorry!!!

I want you to take that life and burn it forever. KILL HER! I want that side of me gone for good. No more.

Kill this secret life that brings me temporary satisfaction, that will end up in eternal destruction. Separate me from this old life and turn me back to you and the new life that you have given me. Lord, thank you for your grace. Truly only your Love can change a person's heart.

I don't want to live this double life anymore. The life of looking good from the outside, but deep inside I keep things in the dark that shouldn't be there. Remove it all God. I don't want it! I don't need it! Lord help me...please Daddy, help me.

Wrap me in your arms and protect me from the evil one. No more double lives God. Just one life, and that's my life to you. I only want you! My secret life is gone, dead, and never to return again. Lord I need you close. I know you will help me. Protect and guide me. Let your Truth activate in my life.

Thank you for rescuing me. I love you dad.

In the Beginning

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters." (Genesis 1:1-2)

Being a science major and a Christian has its sticky situations, especially when it comes to the topic of evolution. Yet, I believe that the Christian view of how the earth was created is not in conflict with science, rather it is in conflict with the idea of how the universe started without a creator.

Everything that was created came from a creator. God is the creator. The Bible doesn't describe exactly every detail of how the earth came into place, which is ok because if we focused so much on that, then we loose the whole purpose of this statement, which is the origin of the creation. The world did not just appear by chance; God created it. The Bible not only tells us who created it, but most importantly it tells us who God is. Through His work and creation, we see God's personality, His character, His plan for His creation, and His deepest desire: To fellowship with us all.

So to say that the earth just happened or evolved actually requires more faith than to believe that God is the one who did it all. And God did not have to create the universe, yet he chose to. He chose to because He loves us, and He expresses His love by creating the universe and us.

Through God's creation, we see that He is organized in a way that He creates things in order. And when His work was done, God rested. As the creator, He is very creative and in control of everything. We also learn that as people, we are all valuable to Him because He chose to create us and He put us above any of His other creations. And by that, He made us rulers over the earth and the animals. We also see through His work God's power, as He SPOKE everything into existence!

Well if God created everything, then who created God? To ask this question is to assume there was another creator before God. But God is the infinite being who has always been and who was created by no one. This is difficult to understand because finite minds cannot comprehend the infinite. It is like trying to think of the highest number, which is impossible. Therefore, we shouldn't limit our infinite God to our finite understanding.

I tend to daydream a lot when looking around at God's creation. The stars are one of my favorite things that God has created on earth. Every time I see them, I think about God and how perfect and awesome His work is. I think about how smart He is in the way He wired the whole universe and life to work. People can reproduce and create things like cars, TVs, houses, and food, but no one in the entire universe can create or reproduce such great creations like God. We can grow a tree, but no one else can create a whole body of ocean or a huge mountain. We can make things similar to God's creation, like a spinning fan to give us breeze, but no one can make rain that falls from the sky. Only God can.

What's awesome to think about is that I know this God. God doesn't just create things and then just leaves us hanging, He wants to have a relationship with us. It's kind of like knowing someone famous or special who did such a great accomplishment or who you look up to. Like meeting Michael Jordan who was the inspiration of the Jordans Shoe Brand, meeting Michael Jackson who was the creator of the moon walk, or knowing Albert Einstein who discovered great theories and contributed a lot of work to science. I haven't met and will never meet these people or ever know them personally, but when I think about God, I can meet Him and know Him personally. I can talk to Him and know He listens. I can sing to Him and know He is smiling. I can have a relationship with Him and know He loves me. In all these things, I am truly blessed. I know my creator, not just the creator of anything, but the creator of ALL things. And He knows me. Most importantly, I know He loves me and I love Him. He is my God, and I am His. How awesome it is to know the one who did it all. How great to know that He loves us all. We will never know all the answers to how God created the earth, but the Bible tells us that God did create it. That fact alone gives worth and dignity to all people.

Dear God,
You are awesome!! I stand in awe of all your work and your creation. No one else can do it but you! Thank you for loving us all that you would think about us and create us. Thank you for showing your love through your creation, and for wanting to fellowship with us. Thank you for the truth that you are the creator of everything, and that you are in control. Lord, thank you for your Spirit that hovers over your creation.

It's a New Season

"It's a new season, it's a new day. A fresh anointing is flowing my way. It's a new season of power and prosperity. It's a new season coming to me.
The devil's time is up no longer can he bother me, 'cause the Creator of the universe He fathers me, and it's transferable my children's children shall be free; it's a new season.
If you don't know by now, you need to know it's jubilee, where debts are cancel and your children walk in victory. It's so available to you right now just taste and see. It's a new season.
The new millennium presents a new horizon, and no greater time for us to make a choice and take a stand. All that we need, is resting in His hands; it's a new season.
All that was stolen is returned to you a hundred fold. Tried in the fire but you're coming out gold. Cling to His hand, yes, to every promise take a hold; it's a new season.
It's a new season coming to me."

God is truly a great God who gives us second chances. I feel like this year is another chance that God has given me; another chance to make things right and get refocused. My relationship with others are so great, but at this point of time, my relationship with Him sucks. And for that, it is not just a New Years Resolution, its a lifetime resolution-- to have an intimate and growing relationship with Him; my first love...JESUS!

This song speaks to me and is a great reminder of the new season that is ahead of us. Even though I've made so much mistakes last year, God's love reminds me that I need to stick close to Him and keep moving forward. Jesus Christ has won the victory and by His power I can and will overcome the sin in my life. I can and will overcome the obstacles and challenges that occurs in my life. The bottom line is that "I can do all things in Christ Jesus who gives me Strength!"

This year I need a breakthrough. Insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting different results. I've been living in my insanity and ignoring God's voice. This year, He is teaching me that in order for my life to turn around, I need to stop doing the same things and start making some changes. I need to STARVE my flesh and FEED my spirit more. I know God wants the best for me, I just need to do my part and really give my whole heart up to Him.

Dear God,
Thank you for new beginnings. Thank you that even though I mess up, you are always there to love and take me back. Thank you for reminding me that above all things, I need you the most in my life. Thank you for victories that you promised me and the challenges that you will help me get through. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins. Lord, do what you want in my life. Let your will be done and not mine. Jesus, let your Holy Spirit guide me and keep me pure. I want a new beginning and a new life. I belong to you and you are my God. Lord, here is my song for you:

What a moment
You have brought me to
Such a freedom I have found in You
You're the healer
Who makes a things new
Yeah, Yeah

I'm not going back
I'm moving ahead
Here to declare to you
MY PAST IS OVER IN YOU
All things are made new
Surrendered my life to Christ
I'M MOVING, MOVING FORWARD

You have risen
With all power in Your hands
You have given me
A second chance

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

I'm not going back
I'm moving ahead
Here to declare to you
My past is over in You
All things are made new
Surrendered my life to Christ
I'm moving, moving forward

You make all things new
Yes you make all things new
And I will follow you
Forward

Yes you make all things new
You make all things new
And I will follow you
Forward

Know God, Know Love. No God, No Love!

"I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends." - John 15: 9-13

To remain in God's love is to STAY in His love, CONTINUE in His love without changing, BE LEFT in His love after everything else has gone, WORK in His love as more is required to be done, and ENDURE in His love by continuing on in spite of everything else. Jesus doesn't want us to just receive His love, but REMAIN in it. We know what love is because we know God. We love because He first loved us. Jesus wants us to love one another the way He loves us, for He loved us enough to give His life for us. We may not have to die for someone, but there are other ways to practice sacrificial love for others. Since we know God, we know His love. Without God, there is not love.

Sometimes, its not easy to love others the way God loves us. But knowing this reminds me that despite of the situation, I must love others anyways. There may be people who hurt me but I need to love them because I know I've hurt God sometimes and He still loves me. I'm not perfect, but God still loves me, just like others are not perfect, so I should still love them too. It's easy to love those who are nice and love you too, but what about those who are not so easy to love? Does that mean we give up and don't try to love them? I think God is challenging all of us daily to truly love on others, especially those who are hard to love. Our act of love and kindness could be their first witness of God and His love. Just like Jesus, we can show love in many different ways: listening, helping, encouraging, giving, etc. We tell people I love them, but do our actions really show it? I think Gods challenge for us this week is to think of someone in particular who needs love and really give all the love we can, and then try to give a little more. If everyday we showed someone God's love, then what joy His promises will be for our lives and that person's life as well, for Jesus said, "you will be filled with joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!"

Lord, thank you for you love, for there is no greater love than yours. Thank you for loving us no matter what. Thank you for being the example of what love is. Lord challenge me to love better and love others the way you love me. Teach me to see others the way you see them. Holy Spirit use me so that I may show others what God's love is like. Lord I pray that my love for you grows each and every day that I remain in you. Lead me to love those who are in my life, especially the ones I find hard to love sometimes. Forgive me of my sins and lack of love for those who needed it. And just like in the song Hosanna, "Heal my heart and make it clean, open up my eyes to the things unseen. Show me how to love like you have loved me. Break my heart from what breaks yours..." I love you Jesus.
